5 Everyday Ways to Save!
Hello Money Masters,
Love is in the air! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! Let’s celebrate those aspects of our lives that make us happy. There’s one thing in particular that I’m pretty sure is a universal factor in happiness…SAVING MONEY! I’m even going to kick it up a notch and make it EASY, too. I know what you’re thinking- “Wow! Helen is the bomb! She’s giving us easy ways to save money.”
So, without further ado, I give you…
EVERYDAY WAYS TO SAVE MONEY!!!
Number 1: The 48-hour mind trick.
Number 2: Say “sayonara” to the salon.
Ladies, this one’s for you. Do your own nails. With all the social media platforms to choose from like Pinterest and youtube you can find some great tutorials on “do-it-yourself” beauty tricks.
Number 3: Be your own fast food restaurant.
Imagine a hectic, busy day where you get home late and everyone in your family is grouchy and hungry and you just don’t have the time or the energy to cook a meal. You have 2 options:
- Spend a small fortune on a dinner from a restaurant plus tip and/or delivery fee. (Hint: this is NOT the saver’s way.)
- Reach into the freezer and grab a prepared meal that you previously made with groceries you previously purchased. (win/win.)
My answer is 2. I’m talking about planning and preparing your weekly meals in advance. This will save you time and money. When you shop with a list of exactly what you need you are less likely to overspend.
Number 4: Cut the cord.
You may not realize this but keeping electronics plugged in, even if they’re not turned on, can add costs to your bill. Try unplugging when possible or using a power strip so you can turn off more than one thing at a time.
Number 5: Channel your inner Pele.
You don’t need to BE a professional soccer player to keep your eye on the goal, but it does help to THINK like one. Having a set goal for your money can help you stay focused on what you are trying to achieve. Be specific, set a certain amount you want saved by a certain date. This can be short or long term.
Saving money can be an easy task. Whether you saved $10 off your phone bill or $10,000 toward college tuition, celebrate each success as it comes. Find the ways that work for you and never give up!
Blessings to you always,
